Police in Barrie have updated the situation regarding an animal cruelty case from the beginning of the month.
Two women from Sarnia are facing charges after 14 dogs and a cat were discovered sleeping in unheated vehicles in a hotel parking lot.
Barrie Police were called and three of the dogs were surrendered to the Barrie SPCA.
One required emergency surgery to remove an obstruction from her stomach.
Police say at that point the women skipped out on the bill and left town with the remaining dogs.
Since then, the women have turned themselves into police but have now surrendered the other dogs.
Barrie Police say the pups are at the Sarnia Humane Society and will be up for adoption soon.
