The Milton Menace managed to get a pretty convincing bounce-back win on Wednesday afternoon.
Our local Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) team went to North York to take on the Rangers at the Herbert Carnegie Centennial Centre. The Menace were looking to make up for a rather disappointing weekend that saw them lose two games in three nights.
The game started off scoreless between the two teams, with neither finding twine in the first period.
The second period went nearly 11-minutes before Milton’s Ivan Fabjan put the puck past the Rangers netminder. He had help from Tristan Tremble and Carson Burlington. Just over a minute later, Jared Coccimiglio scored on the powerplay. The goal was assisted by Connor Driscoll and Aidan Puley. The Menace were up 2-0 after 40 minutes of action.
The third period was not much different for the Milton players. Myles Perry scored to seal the win, Justin O’Donnell and Driscoll got the assists. Milton beat North York 3-0.
Forbes Anderson was in net for Milton, according to the box score. He stopped all 26 shots he faced for the shutout.
Next up for the Menace will be one of their Halton rivals: the Burlington Cougars. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 10th at the Central Arena.
The next home game for the Menace is on Sunday, February 12th. They play the Oakville Blades. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
The final regular season game for the Menace will be on Saturday, March 4th against the Collingwood Blues.
