Four teenagers were arrested by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) in connection to a pharmacy robbery in Oakville.
On Friday, February 3rd, just after 4:00 p.m., four males entered the Pharmasave Pharmacy at 225 Speers Road and demanded staff open the safe. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the employee as the demand was made. The four suspects went behind the counter and stole narcotics and cash before fleeing in a light-coloured SUV. Police were notified and descriptions of the suspects and the suspect vehicle were provided. No physical injuries were sustained as a result of the robbery.
While responding to the call, patrol officers observed the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. The suspect vehicle failed to stop for police and attempted to evade capture. The suspect vehicle came into contact with police vehicles and the four occupants were arrested.
The vehicle being driven by the suspects had been reported stolen from Peel on Thursday, February 2nd.
A 16-year-old male from Maple has been charged with:
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Pointing a Firearm
- Dangerous Operation
- Flight from a Peace Officer
A 17-year-old male from Brampton, a 14-year-old male from Toronto, and a 15-year-old male from Brampton have been charged with:
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
All four youth were held in custody pending a bail hearing. No names were provided due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The stolen narcotics, cash and a pellet gun (believed to be the weapon used in the robbery) were seized as a result of a search of the vehicle.
