Ontario’s groundhog weather prognosticator has made his prediction.
After a few years of uncertainty, Wiarton was able to find themselves a new albino groundhog. This brand new Wiarton Willie told Mayor Garry Michi that it will be an early spring as he did not see his shadow!
Now, not to say that I fully doubt our little groundhog overlord, but his prediction does come with a grain of salt in the immediate future as we deal with a COLD week here in Milton and the surrounding area. You can read up on the forecast here.
Over in Nova Scotia, Shubenacadie Sam reportedly saw her shadow this morning, which means the east coast is expecting six more weeks of winter. The most famous one, Punxsutawney Phil, saw her shadow as well.
That makes Willie the underdog in the groundhog prognostication business… Maybe even the underHOG.
Unlike last year, there was no livestream of the prediction. We’ll share video if one is made available.
