UPDATE
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says the arrested suspect has been released from custody after the located suspicious package was deemed harmless.
The investigation was done by officers at the carpool lot area at Regional Road 25 and Highway 401 on Sunday night.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested one male suspect after a suspicious package was discovered on a GO bus in Milton.
The HRPS first reported the discovery via Twitter at 6:33 p.m. on Sunday, January 8th. The package was found on a bus that was stopped at the carpool lot at Regional Road 25 and Highway 401. There were also reports of suspicious activity.

Shortly after, the male suspect was in custody. All passengers and the driver were safely evacuated from the bus.
The investigation is ongoing.
