The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the newly launched crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, December 12th and Monday, December 19th, there were at least 76 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
Among the 76 cases of crime, 33 were roadside tests, likely through an increase in RIDE stoppages, 21 were theft cases of some kind and 13 were listed as motor vehicle collision cases (including hit and runs).
Tonight @HRPSMiltHH teamed up with 2 and 3 District DRU as well as @MaddHalton volunteers to look for impaired drivers in all 3 districts of the region. Overall our residents get the message but sadly some still do not, four 3 day suspensions issued. Arrive alive drive sober! ^DA pic.twitter.com/iAoRexsUvO

With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
