For the second time since it was launched in September, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has bumped up the region’s COVID-19 Community Risk Level from moderate to high.
Individuals are being encouraged to use more layers of protection, such as increasing the frequency of mask use and maintaining physical distance in indoor public settings
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Charles Gardner, indicates there is a greater risk of getting sick with the potential for severe illness due to the elevated transmission of influenza RSV as well as COVID.
The health unit is also recommending residents make sure their vaccinations are up to date and they get their flu shot.
