Tuesday, November 29th has been proclaimed as GivingTuesday in Milton.
The annual day is the world’s largest generosity movement and focuses on fundraising for a number of charities and organizations. Locally, those include:
- Acclaim Health
- Acclaim Health is celebrating the work of our extraordinary donors, and our compassionate and caring staff members by spotlighting the wonderful story of Naome and Patty’s Place club member, Leonard. Rally together with us as a community and join our “Because You Care Campaign.” All donations will be matched by 50%-100% by amazing, long-time donor families. Your support enables us to continue helping families and people living with dementia. To learn more, please visit: https://acclaimhealth.ca/home-is-not-just-a-place-its-also-a-feeling/
- The Darling Home for Kids
- “As proud Guardians for fifteen years, our family has watched The Darling Home for Kids far exceed every hope we had starting out all those years ago. The impact on the families we support is wide-reaching and profound. We know that when parents can take a break from the heavy caregiving responsibilities that come with having a medically complex child, they return refreshed and renewed and this in turn impacts those around them in a positive way. It is a ripple effect that strengthens families and communities alike. Together, anything is possible. We want to continue the legacy of The Darling Home for Kids, and ensure we are there for our families when they need us. That is why this Giving Tuesday, my family and I are matching each donation made, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000. We invite our community of supporters to donate through The Darling & Eagen Family Gift Match so together, we can positively impact the lives of more children and families and increase our capacity to make a difference.” – Michele Darling

- Halton Food for Thought
- Halton Food for Thought is not moving forward with a traditional fund a need campaign for Giving Tuesday this year. Rather this year, we are planning to give thanks and appreciation to our dedicated and loyal volunteers. We plan to express appreciation to all our dedicated community volunteers including teachers, principals and administration staff in our partner schools across Halton. In the true sense of the word ‘GIVING’, our countless volunteers continually GIVE their time to help support our healthy Student Nutrition Programs throughout the school year – and we want to thank them for their unwavering support.
- Milton Community Resource Centre
- MCRC is kicking off our Fill A Crib Campaign on GivingTuesday with the goal of filling 50 cribs with baby essentials for the community. This campaign was created to further provide our Infant Food Bank and Period Poverty Initiative with essential supplies to support local impoverished, at-risk, and vulnerable families. We are collecting Diapers, Formula, Baby Cereal, Baby Food, Wipes and Menstrual products. Donations can be made online or in person at 410 Bronte Street South.
- Oakville & Milton Humane Society
- For GivingTuesday 2022 at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, Volunteers will package food for pet meals to be distributed through the partners of the OMHS Pet Food Bank. All donations will be matched, up to $10,000, to meet the most urgent needs of vulnerable animals in the community.
- The Woman’s Centre of Halton
