The Milton Menace are heading up the road to take on the Georgetown Raiders.
The last time these two teams faced off, the Menace beat the Raiders 4-1 on Wednesday, October 5th. Milton star Aidan Hughes led the way with a hattrick. Will Goumas was in net, and he stopped 29 of 30 shots for a .966% save percentage.
The Menace are coming off a weekend where they didn’t lose on a back-to-back. They tied the Toronto Jr. Canadiens 1-1 at Scotiabank Pond. They then pulled off a third period comeback and beat the Markham Royals 5-4 in overtime.
Over 22 games, the Menace are 16-3-1-2, giving them 35 points. That ties them for second place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) North/West Conference with the Collingwood Blues, who have only played 20 games this season. The Burlington Cougars have leapt into first place in the conference with 36 points in 24 games played. The best player for the Menace this year has been Aidan Hughes. The 20-year-old forward leads the team with 16 goals, 23 assists, 39 points over 22 games. Here’s how Milton’s players have played so far this season.
Looking across the ice, the Georgetown Raiders are 12-6-1-1 over 20 games, giving them 26 points. They rank in at fifth in the North/West Conference. Rhys Chiddenton has been the best skater for the Raiders, tallying 12 goals, 20 assists, 32 points so far this year.
Game time at the Mold Masters Arena in Georgetown will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16th. The Menace will return home on Friday, November 18th with a game against the Collingwood Blues.
