We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were six cases across Halton over the weekend, one of those involving Milton:
On Friday, October 28th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Tremaine Road and Britannia Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 58-year-old Waubaushene woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, October 28th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Burloak Drive and North Service Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 54-year-old Oakville man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, October 29th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Dundas Street East and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 34-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Saturday, October 29th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Bronte Road and Westoak Trails Boulevard in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 56-year-old Oakville man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, October 30th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Upper Middle Road and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Oakville man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, October 30th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Trafalgar Road and Dundas Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old St. Catharines man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
