Milton Menace fans cheer the team on during 2019-2020 season
The captain of the Milton Menace put the team on his back on Tuesday afternoon.
Owen Forester came up big in the final period of the game between the Milton Menace and the Pickering Panthers. The teams are in Cobourg as part of the OJHL Governors’ Showcase.
The game began with a goal by the Panthers. The Menace would then tie it up with a powerplay goal at the 13-minute mark. It was scored by Aidan Puley, and assisted by Connor Driscoll and Bradley Banach. It was 1-1 after one.
Pickering then scored a go-ahead goal to start the second period. Milton would get back-to-back goals to take the lead. The first was by Dylan McFadden and assisted by Aidan Hughes and Cole Semeniuk. The second was scored by Driscoll and assisted by Forester. Pickering then tied the game at 3 to end the second period.
The third period was where the Menace shined, particularly Forester on the powerplay. The new Milton captain scored a powerplay goal at the near three-minute mark. It was assisted by Hughes and McFadden. He then put the Menace up by two with 14 seconds to go in the game. His second of the game was scored on the powerplay and was assisted by Lucas Buzziol and Hughes. Milton beat Pickering 5-3.
EDIT: President of the Menace Jason Tryfon has informed us that there is a scorekeeper’s error. The box score says that Will Goumas was in net for Milton. Instead, it was Christian Trianni. He had 23 saves on 26 shots, good for .884%.
The Menace have wrapped up their trip to Cobourg. They were 1-0-0-1 in the two-day stretch. They are 4-0-0-1 on the season, good for 9 points and second in the North/West Division behind the still-undefeated Collingwood Blues. Read yesterday’s recap here.
Their next game is on Friday, September 23rd. Milton will take on the Burlington Cougars at the Burlington Central Arena.
