
Due to some mandatory vacation time, we’re catching up on two of the COVID-19 updates from the Halton Region: Friday, August 26th and Tuesday, August 30th. For the sake of simplicity, both updates will be combined for this report.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show two additional deaths in the totals. Both deaths appear to be Oakville residents, giving the town 114 deaths total. Burlington remains at 150 total deaths. Milton remains at 70 deaths total. Halton Hills remains at 68 deaths total. Halton is now at 402 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 240 new cases since last Tuesday. The total number of cases is up to 53,414. There have been 1,421 total hospitalizations in Halton and 402 deaths.
In Milton, we had 55 new cases since last Tuesday. That brings us to 14,045 total cases. There have been 333 total hospitalizations in Milton and 70 deaths.
There are currently two outbreak reported in Milton:
- Allendale – Long Term Care Facility – Allen House
- Congregate Living 159 – No other details
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,388,675 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,236,560 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 2,342 total doses have been administered to people aged <5;
- 68,553 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 106,868 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 110,143 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 70,539 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 82,803 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 96,623 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 103,895 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 109,470 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;

The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 404,295 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 35,319 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 949,061 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
