
Ongoing thefts at local retailers are being investigated by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS).
It has been confirmed that two thefts of a similar ilk have occurred along Steeles Avenue East in Milton recently. The HRPS says a credit card machine stolen was stolen from a flooring retailer on Wednesday, August 17th at roughly 10:30 a.m.. Two days later, on Friday, August 19th, a similar theft happened at a tractor sales and service dealer. That was at roughly 4:45 p.m..
Spokes N’ Slopes at 307 Steeles Avenue East in Milton had a run-in with a similar incident. Owner Matt Burger says local business owners need to be a bit more careful.
He says money for all local businesses has been tight over the last two years, so owners need to be a bit more careful with these ongoing thefts looming.
The investigation is looking into whether these thefts are connected. No arrests have been made.
