The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, August 8th and Monday, August 15th, there were at least 30 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft case Hayward Crescent on Monday, August 15th;
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Monday, August 15th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bronson Road on Monday, August 15th;
- a theft case on Guelph Line on Monday, August 15th;
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Tuesday, August 16th;
- a theft case on Bronte Street North on Tuesday, August 16th;
- a theft case on Willingdon Crescent on Wednesday, August 17th;
- a theft case on Holloway Terrace on Wednesday, August 17th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue East on Wednesday, August 17th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Wednesday, August 17th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Cleve Court on Wednesday, August 17th;
- an assault case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Thursday, August 18th;
- a property crime case on Day Terrace on Thursday, August 18th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Thursday, August 18th;
- a property crime case on Williams Avenue on Thursday, August 18th;
- a breaking and entering case on Crawford Crescent in Campbellville on Thursday, August 18th;
- a property crime case on Duncan Lane on Friday, August 19th;
- a theft case in the area of Clark Boulevard and Fourth Line on Friday, August 19th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Elliott Crescent on Friday, August 19th;
- a theft case on Ontario Street South on Friday, August 19th;
- an assault case on Randall Crescent on Friday, August 19th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue East on Friday, August 19th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue near the Outlet Mall on Friday, August 19th;
- a property crime case on Laurier Avenue on Saturday, August 20th;
- a pair of assault cases on Dixon Drive on Saturday, August 20th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, August 21st;
- a property crime case on Hepburn Road on Sunday, August 21st;
- a breaking and entering case on Harrop Drive on Sunday, August 21st; and,
- a property crime case in the area of Laurier Avenue and Thompson Road on Sunday, August 21st.
Of the 30 cases of crime, 16 were theft cases of some kind, eight were property crime cases, four were assault cases, and two were breaking and entering cases.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
