The Halton Region’s reputation remains at the highest level.
The S&P Global Ratings (S&P) completed their annual review on June 10th and maintained their highest rating of AAA for Halton Region. Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr says this rating is great for Halton.
“Halton Region has once again earned this AAA distinction for 20 years in a row,” says Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “This top rating allows public funds to go further and helps ensure top value for taxpayer dollars as Halton Region invests in critical infrastructure projects that keep Halton a great place to live. This is yet another acknowledgement of the Region’s continued prudent fiscal management practices and planning to maintain our strong financial position.”
Halton and its municipalities will have continued access to the best capital financing rates available. That goes toward something like long-term infrastructure capital financing costs, which helps public funds go further.
The Region has maintained top credit ratings from S&P Global Ratings (AAA) since 2002 and Moody’s Investors Service (Aaa) since 1989.
