The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, July 18th and Monday, July 25th, there were at least 19 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A property crime case on Main Street East on Monday, July 18th;
- a breaking and entering case on Esquesing Line on Monday, July 18th;
- a theft case at Fifth Line and Britannia Road on Monday, July 18th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Regional Road 25 on Monday, July 18th;
- a property crime case on Bronte Street South on Monday, July 18th;
- a theft case on Bronte Street South on Tuesday, July 19th;
- a theft case on Ontario Street South on Tuesday, July 19th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Tuesday, July 19th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Main Street East on Tuesday, July 19th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Fifth Line on Wednesday, July 20th;
- a theft case on Maquire Terrace on Wednesday, July 20th;
- a property crime case on Bronte Street South on Thursday, July 21st;
- a property crime case on Leiterman Drive on Friday, July 22nd;
- a theft case on Maple Avenue on Saturday, July 23rd;
- a breaking and entering case on Thompson Road on Saturday, July 23rd;
- a property crime case on Bennett Boulevard on Saturday, July 23rd;
- a quality of life case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Sunday, July 24th;
- a theft case at Britannia Road and Rose Way on Sunday, July 24th; and,
- an assault case on Main Street East on Monday, July 25th.
Of the 19 cases of crime, ten were theft cases of some kind, five were property crime cases, two were breaking and entering cases, one was an assault case, and one was a quality of life case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
