A group of 12 family members is splitting a LOTTO MAX second prize.
The group won $64,549.90 in the February 4th draw. One of the members is from Oakville. The group includes:
- Sarah Pruesse of Oshawa
- Glenda Lloyd of Burlington
- Jeffery Pruesse of Oshawa
- Jennifer King of Stouffville
- Joan Lloyd of Burlington
- Judith Lloyd of Stouffville
- Margaret Gibb of Oakville
- Matthew Lombardi of Whitby
- Nicole McDougall of Whitby
- Penelope Lloyd-Bartolotta of Hamilton
- Scott McDougall of Brooklin
- Stephanie Lynn of Mount Albert
The group of 12 family members have been playing the lottery together for four years.
Sarah is the group leader. She says she discovered their win when scanning the ticket using the OLG App. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I had to get my husband to double check. I did a group video chat to share the news. A few group members thought I was kidding but when they realized it was real, they were so excited!”
Each group member will receive about $5,300. “Some are putting their share toward renovations while others are paying bills and taking vacations,” says Sarah. “We’d like to come back for a jackpot!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Ultramar on County Road 36 in Dunsford.
