Canadian Blood Services is hoping to bring back old donors and attract new ones as numbers drop to the lowest levels in a decade.
Gina Leyva is a Community Development Manager. She says the pandemic has played a huge part in people not coming in. They are using National Blood Donor Week (June 12 – 18) in an effort to replenish a critically low supply.
She adds that they are usually looking for 10,000 new donors, but this year they are hoping to attract 100,000 people to get their depleted stocks back up.
