
The Region says it has moved to a twice-a-week update system. This began Tuesday, May 10th. The updates come Tuesday and Friday.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show two additional deaths in the totals. Both deaths appear to be Burlington residents, giving the city 138 deaths total. Milton remains at 67 deaths total. Halton Hills remains at 68 deaths total. Oakville remains at 107 deaths total. Halton is now at 380 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 79 new cases since Friday’s update. The total number of cases is up to 50,234. There have been 1,293 total hospitalizations in Halton and 380 deaths.
In Milton, we had 16 new cases since Friday. That brings us to 13,431 total cases. There have been 302 total hospitalizations in Milton and 67 deaths.
There are currently no outbreaks reported in Milton.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,338,384 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,191,141 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 66,653 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 104,652 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 107,218 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 69,013 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 80,591 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 93,888 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 100,824 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 105,914 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 106,657 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 102,023 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 93,768 total doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 82,133 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 76,953 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 60,802 total doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 87,118 total doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 177 total additional doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 379,757 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 34,848 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 923,779 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
