The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, June 6th and Monday, June 13th, there were at least 19 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A property crime case on Main Street East on Monday, June 6th;
- a breaking and entering case on Maple Avenue on Monday, June 6th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Monday, June 6th;
- a theft case on Peru Road on Monday, June 6th;
- a property crime case on Tupper Drive on Tuesday, June 7th;
- a breaking and entering case on Steeles Avenue East on Tuesday, June 7th;
- a theft case on Lawson Road on Tuesday, June 7th;
- a property crime case on Costigan Road on Tuesday, June 7th;
- a property crime case on Bellflower Court on Tuesday, June 7th;
- a breaking and entering case on Durante Way on Thursday, June 9th;
- a robbery on Mary Street on Thursday, June 9th;
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Thursday, June 9th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Trafalgar Road on Friday, June 10th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Sumac Crescent on Friday, June 10th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Farmstead Drive on Friday, June 10th;
- a theft case on Ruhl Drive on Saturday, June 11th;
- a theft case on Trafalgar Road on Saturday, June 11th;
- a theft case on Maple Avenue on Saturday, June 11th; and,
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, June 12th.
Of the 19 cases of crime, ten were theft cases of some kind, five were property crimes, three were breaking and entering cases, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
