The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, May 30th and Monday, June 6th, there were at least 31 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A property crime case on Ontario Street North on Monday, May 30th;
- a robbery on Costigan Road on Monday, May 30th;
- two property crime cases on Leger Way on Monday, May 30th;
- three theft from vehicle cases on Whitlock Avenue on Monday, May 30th;
- a property crime case on James Snow Parkway North on Monday, May 30th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Leger Way on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a theft of vehicle case on McFerran Crescent on Tuesday, May 31st
- a theft of vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Martin Street on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a theft of vehicle case on MacDonald Crescent on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a robbery case on Holly Avenue on Tuesday, May 31st;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a theft case on Williams Avenue on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a robbery case on Blinco Terrace on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a property crime case on Murlock Heights on Tuesday, May 31st;
- a property crime case at Main Street and Martin Street on Wednesday, June 1st;
- an assault case on Wheelabrator Way on Wednesday, June 1st;
- an assault case on Tupper Drive on Wednesday, June 1st;
- a property crime case on Thompson Road South on Wednesday, June 1st;
- an assault case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, June 2nd;
- a property crime case on Tupper Drive on Thursday, June 2nd;
- an assault case on Cedar Hedge Road on Thursday, June 2nd;
- a robbery case on Main Street East on Friday, June 3rd;
- an assault case on Main Street East on Friday, June 3rd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Regional Road 25 on Friday, June 3rd;
- a theft case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Friday, June 3rd;
- a property crime case on Ontario Street South on Saturday, June 4th; and,
- a property crime case on Mary Street on Saturday, June 4th.
Of the 31 cases of crime, 11 were theft cases of some kind, ten were property crimes, six were assault cases, and four were robberies.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
