
The Region says it has moved to a twice-a-week update system. This began Tuesday, May 10th. The updates will come Tuesday and Friday.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show three additional deaths in the totals. One of the deaths appears to be a Halton Hills resident, putting the town at 68 deaths total. Another is a Milton resident, giving our town 66 deaths total. The third is an Oakville resident, putting them at 107 deaths total. Burlington remains at 134 deaths total. Halton is now at 375 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 168 new cases since Tuesday’s update. The total number of cases is up to 49,779. There have been 1,275 total hospitalizations in Halton and 375 deaths.
In Milton, we had 22 new cases since Tuesday. That brings us to 13,341 total cases. There have been 298 total hospitalizations in Milton and 66 deaths.
There are two outbreaks in Milton:
- Allendale Long Term Care – Bronte Home
- Congregate Living 141
- Seasons Retirement Home – Fourth Floor
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,331,030 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,184,459 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 66,030 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 104,211 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 107,020 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 68,911 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 80,458 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 93,723 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 100,679 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 105,742 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 106,506 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 101,829 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 92,639 total doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 80,876 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 75,992 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 60,040 total doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 86,200 total doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 174 total additional doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 375,888 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 34,717 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 920,425 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
