A Milton man who led the Halton Police on a car chase has been arrested.
The incident reportedly began back on Friday, April 8th at roughly 2:35 pm. The Halton Regional Police Service responded to an address in the area of Robinson Road and Bowman Street in Georgetown for a report of a male who had broken into a residential garage. The suspect fled the scene in a white Ford F150 after being confronted by the home owner.
Officers attended the area and located the suspect vehicle; however, the driver failed to stop for police and drove off in a dangerous manner.
The vehicle then drove to the Toronto Prime Outlets at 13850 Steeles Avenue West in Halton Hills, where the driver struck five vehicles before abandoning the truck and fleeing on foot. The suspect was located and arrested in a nearby field by K9 and Tactical officers.
The F150 had been reported stolen from Toronto.
No civilian injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
37-year-old Adrian Gembal of Milton has been charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Fail to Stop after Accident
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Operation While Prohibited (5 counts)
Gembal was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
