The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest in connection to a break and enter that took place at the Georgetown Marketplace.On Thursday, April 7th, two suspects broke into a lottery kiosk inside the mall after the mall was closed. The suspects stole lottery tickets and attempted to activate them at a nearby convenience store.
On Tuesday, May 3rd, a media release was issued by the HRPS asking for help in identifying the suspects. One of the suspects was identified with help from the community and further investigation led to the identification of the second suspect.
On Friday, July 15th, investigators from the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant at a residence in Georgetown. One of the suspects was arrested inside the residence.
42-year-old Steven Collins of Georgetown has been charged with:
- Break, Enter and Commit
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Collins was released from custody on an undertaking with a court date.
The second suspect has been identified but remains outstanding. Police are making efforts to locate and arrest this suspect and his identity is not being released at this time.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking for two suspects who stole from a lottery kiosk at the Georgetown Marketplace.
On Friday, April 8th, two male suspects entered the Georgetown Marketplace after hours. They went to the Lottery Kiosk that was closed for the evening and took lottery tickets and an unknown quantity of cigarettes.
The HRPS describes the suspects as:
- Suspect 1 – Male, between 25 – 30 years old, 5’8 to 5’11, slim build, wearing a black jacket and pants with a green/grey tuque.
- Suspect 2 – Male, between 25 – 30 years old, 5’8 to 5’11, heavier set, wearing a tan jacket and dark Toronto Blue Jays hat.
