The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, April 18th and Monday, April 25th, there were at least 15 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft of vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Monday, April 18th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bowell Crescent on Monday, April 18th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Highside Drive on Tuesday, April 19th;
- a theft case on Savoline Boulevard on Tuesday, April 19th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Nipissing Road on Wednesday, April 20th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Costigan Road on Wednesday, April 20th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue East on Wednesday, April 20th;
- a property crime case on James Snow Parkway on Wednesday, April 20th;
- an assault case on Ferguson Drive on Wednesday, April 20th;
- an assault case on Derry Road on Wednesday, April 20th;
- an assault case on Rose Way on Wednesday, April 20th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Thursday, April 21st;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Friday, April 22nd;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Friday, April 22nd; and,
- a theft from vehicle case on Martin Street on Friday, April 22nd.
Of the 15 cases of crime, eight were theft cases of some kind, five were assault cases, one was a property crime case, and one was a quality of life case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
