Eight new names are entering the Milton Walk of Fame.
The Town of Milton and the Milton Historical Society say the class of 2022 will be inducted on Saturday, April 30th. The ceremony will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Milton Town Hall, located at 150 Mary St.
“Through our partnership with the Milton Historical Society, it gives me a tremendous sense of pride to honour and congratulate this latest group of Miltonians to be inducted into Milton’s Walk of Fame,” says Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz.
“The Milton Historical Society wishes to congratulate this year’s inductees. With each passing year, the Walk of Fame continues to remind all of us just how special this community and its citizens truly are and have been over the last 165 years,” says Milton Historical Society President John Challinor II.
The Walk of Fame recognizes current and former Milton citizens who have achieved national and/or international recognition as top achievers in top-level fields including athletics, arts and entertainment, business and industry, government and public service, and health and science.
The 2022 inductees are:
- Kwaku Boateng – Defensive Lineman, CFL
- Blair Burgess – Professional Horse Trainer
- Robert Burgess, Q.C. (1935 – 2021) (Posthumous) – Professional Horse Breeder
- Steve Condren – Standardbred Driver
- Reford Gardhouse (1916-2003) (Posthumous) – International Cattle Judge
- Jim Ridley (1945-2008) (Posthumous) – Professional Baseball Scout
- Michael Sgarbossa – Professional Hockey Player
- Neil Teague – Softball Player and Coach
Each Walk of Fame inductee is permanently recognized in the glass corridor within Town Hall.
