The South Simcoe Police Service is recognizing Crime Prevention Week with a series of community events and educational initiatives focused on building safer communities.
This year’s theme, “Protecting Ontario Together,” highlights the shared responsibility of police, residents and businesses in preventing crime through education, awareness, reporting and community partnerships.
South Simcoe Police continues to work with schools and community partners to promote public education and safety. This fall, service members have delivered or scheduled 118 school visits and presentations focused on e-scooter, e-bike and helmet safety. They have also delivered or scheduled eight presentations on fraud and scam prevention for community members.
As part of Crime Prevention Week, members of the South Simcoe Police Community Response Unit will connect with residents through several events across the region.

Police are also encouraging residents to report crime, including incidents that may seem minor. Reports can help investigators identify trends, connect suspects to offences and prevent further victimization.
Non-emergency incidents, including eligible theft offences, can be reported through the South Simcoe Police Service’s online reporting tool by clicking here and selecting “Report Online” on the homepage.
Crime Prevention Week ends on Saturday, November 7th. It’s supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and the Government of Ontario. For more information, click here.
