Families preparing for a child to start Kindergarten next fall are invited to attend the Halton District School Board’s “Calling All Three-Year-Olds” Kindergarten Open Houses.
The events are being held in Burlington, Oakville, Georgetown, Milton and Acton, giving future students and their families an opportunity to explore HDSB schools and learn more about the Kindergarten program. Registration for the Open Houses is not required.
All events run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Burlington Open House already took place on Thursday, October 1st at John William Boich Public School.
In Oakville, families can attend Wednesday, October 7th at Harvest Oak Public School, located at 1235 Wheat Boom Drive.
The Georgetown event is Thursday, October 15th at Silver Creek Public School, located at 170 Eaton Street.
Milton’s Open House takes place Wednesday, October 28th at Cedar Ridge Public School, located at 815 Kennedy Circle.
The final event is Wednesday, November 4th at McKenzie-Smith Bennett School, located at 69 Acton Boulevard in Acton.
Families attending the Open Houses can explore Kindergarten classrooms, meet HDSB staff and learn how the program supports early learning and development. Attendees can also pick up information, a free children’s book and a tote bag, connect with community partners and learn about before and after school care.
Families with children beginning Kindergarten in September 2027 can begin registering for school now. Registration is available in person or through an online pre-registration form.
Children entering Junior Kindergarten must be four years old by December 31st, 2027, while children entering Senior Kindergarten must be five years old by December 31st, 2027.
