Students across the Halton District School Board (HDSB) and Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) are continuing to meet or exceed provincial standards in several EQAO assessments, according to results from the 2025-26 school year.
The HDSB reports that its students performed above provincial standards across every subject, grade and student designation included in the assessments. The board says the results provide insight into student achievement and will be used alongside other measures to support ongoing improvement.
In Grade 3, 80% of HDSB students met or exceeded the provincial standard in Reading, while 74% did so in Writing and 71% in Mathematics.
Among Grade 6 students, 92% met or exceeded the provincial standard in both Reading and Writing, while 64% achieved the benchmark in Mathematics.
For Grade 9 Mathematics, 76% of HDSB students met or exceeded the provincial standard.
In the Grade 10 Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, 91% of HDSB students met or exceeded the requirements.
The Halton Catholic District School Board also released its 2025-26 EQAO results this week.
HCDSB reports that 83% of Grade 3 students met or exceeded the provincial standard in Reading, 77% in Writing, and 76% in Mathematics.
For Grade 6, 90% of students met or exceeded the provincial standard in Reading, 90% in Writing and 59% in Mathematics.
In Grade 9 Mathematics, 71% met or exceeded the provincial standard.
Among fully participating, first-time eligible HCDSB students who wrote the OSSLT, 88% successfully completed the assessment.
The OSSLT measures reading and writing skills based on expectations across Ontario’s core curriculum through the end of Grade 9.
Both the HDSB and the HCDSB exceeded Ontario averages in each of the categories for the annual testing.
