The Milton Fall Fair turns 171 this weekend.
This year’s theme is Urban Agriculture, highlighting the different ways agriculture continues to thrive in the community, from backyard gardens and urban beekeeping to local food production, sustainability and innovative growing practices.
The fair opens Friday, September 25th at 3:00 p.m., with agricultural education activities beginning earlier in the day for Youth Day. The weekend will feature livestock displays, an agricultural education tent, petting zoo, exhibit halls, vendors, food and the midway.
Friday’s activities include blacksmith demonstrations, an agricultural education program featuring Durham Farm Connections, Backed by Bees and Halton 4-H, and a hands-on exotic animal exhibit. The Beer Tent will feature Urban Cowboy Line Dancing and Mackenzie Leigh Meyer, while the Market Stage hosts the House of Chords Showcase.
Saturday begins at 9:00 a.m. and features a full schedule of activities, including Halton 4-H Rabbit Hopping, blacksmith demonstrations, Milton Fire Community Services, agricultural education activities and exotic animal exhibits.
Family activities Saturday include the Farmer Bale Toss, face painting, henna artists and a Children’s Pedal Tractor Pull. The Market Stage features Cheer Sport Sharks, SAMM, Maple Masala and INJUNCTION.
The Grandstand will host the Truck and Tractor Pull at 10:00 a.m., the Garden Tractor Pull at 1:00 p.m., opening ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. and the Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday activities begin at 9:00 a.m. and include a classic car show, chainsaw carving, a sheep show, agricultural education activities, exotic animal exhibits, children’s activities and appearances by Disney Princesses from noon to 3:00 p.m.
Sunday’s Grandstand schedule features a Demolition Derby at 2:00 p.m., while the Market Stage will feature Milton Academy of Music, Crash Rhythm Drums and Station 31.
The fair says its schedule is subject to change without notice, with organizers making reasonable efforts to notify participants of significant changes.
