A Burlington man has been charged with first-degree murder following an investigation by the Halton Regional Police Service.
Officers were called to an apartment in the area of Guelph Line and Glencrest Road on the morning of Thursday, September 10th for a wellness check. A woman was found dead inside the apartment.
After a brief investigation, the HRPS determined that a male suspect known to the victim had fled to the Niagara Falls area. He was arrested roughly one hour later by Niagara Police.
It’s now being reported by the HRPS that the 46-year-old man has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder.
His name was not provided by the police due to a publication ban.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says a woman has been found dead after a wellbeing check in Burlington.
On Thursday, September 10th, at about 6:30 a.m., officers attended an apartment in the area of Guelph Line and Glencrest Road. When they arrived, the adult female was located inside the residence. No one else was found inside the apartment.
A male suspect in his 40’s was identified who fled the residence prior to police arrival. It was determined that the suspect had fled to the Niagara Falls area.
The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) were contacted and the man was arrested at around 7:45 a.m.
The suspect and deceased are known to each other and the HRPS is not looking for additional suspects.
Charges are pending.
