Kerrfest is happening in Oakville this weekend, and there’s been a line-up change.
Canadian new wave band The Spoons will take the Kerrfest stage on Saturday, September 12th, replacing Freedom Train in the festival’s entertainment lineup.
Kerrfest says Freedom Train is unable to perform due to unforeseen circumstances, and the festival looks forward to welcoming the band back at a future event.
The Spoons will perform from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They’re known for Canadian hits including Nova Heart, Romantic Traffic, Tell No Lies, and Old Emotions.
The Spoons’ album Arias & Symphonies was named by Chart Magazine as one of the 20 most influential Canadian albums of the 1980s. The band also toured alongside international acts including The Police, Simple Minds and Culture Club during the decade.
They have continued to record and perform across Canada, including the release of New Day New World in 2019.
Kerrfest runs from Friday, September 11th to Sunday, September 13th at Westwood Park at the corner of Kerr and Bond Street in Oakville. Kerrfest Kids is taking place Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
