The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking to identify a young girl seen walking near Guelph Line in Burlington this week.
Officers received reports at about 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6th of a girl, believed to be about 10 years old, walking on No. 1 Side Road just east of Guelph Line.
An extensive search of the area was conducted, which included the K9 unit and drone team, but were unable to locate or identify the child. While police have not received any missing person or distress reports, they are hoping to identify the girl to ensure her well-being.
She is described by the HRPS as:
- 4’0″ tall
- thin build
- dark brown hair pulled into a ponytail
- wearing an oversized dark t-shirt
It is possible she may have been travelling or hiking the Bruce Trail in the area. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who was on the trail between Guelph Line and Walkers Line on Thursday during the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
