The Halton Learning Foundation (HFL) has launched its 2026 Back to School campaign.
They’re aiming to provide emergency support to 400 Halton District School Board students before the new school year begins.
This campaign is raising funds to help students in need with essentials such as food, school supplies and clothing. According to the foundation, one in eight HDSB students faces financial challenges that can make preparing for the school year difficult.
The HLF responded to more than 2,600 requests from school staff during the 2025-26 school year. Support is provided through gift cards, allowing families to purchase items such as backpacks, shoes, school supplies and groceries based on their individual needs.
They also announced that new or increased monthly donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar for up to one year, to a maximum of $15,000, through support from belairdirect.
Residents interested in supporting the campaign can learn more or make a donation here.
