Three Burlington businesses are receiving a combined $7.5 million in federal funding to help expand operations, strengthen manufacturing, and commercialize new technologies.
The investment from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) will support companies operating in the aerospace, manufacturing, and artificial intelligence sectors.
PV Labs is receiving $5 million through the Regional Defence Investment Initiative to help expand domestic manufacturing of its aerial stabilization and imaging systems as part of a $14-million project.
Modern Elevator Innovations will receive $1 million through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative to modernize equipment and processes, increasing its fabrication capabilities.
Spatial Data Analytics has been approved for $1.5 million through the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative to help commercialize and scale its AI-powered infrastructure inspection and management technology as part of an almost $4-million project.
The federal government says the investments are intended to help businesses grow, strengthen Canada’s manufacturing, defence, and technology sectors, and support job creation in Burlington.
