Visitors to Crawford Lake Conservation Area can learn a traditional Inuit craft during a free Strawberry Sealskin Pin Workshop next month.
Led by Vanessa Brousseau, founder of Resilient Inuk Creations and a national advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) awareness, the hands-on workshop will guide participants in creating a strawberry-shaped sealskin pin while encouraging reflection, creativity, and connection.
The workshop is open to all skill levels, with all materials provided. The finished pin measures approximately six centimetres by six centimetres.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13th at the Deer Clan Longhouse at Crawford Lake Conservation Area. Participation is free for Conservation Halton members and included with park admission for non-members.
Pre-registration is required, with space limited to 20 participants. Visitors must also reserve their park admission in advance. Click here to learn more.
