A 55-year-old Cambridge man is facing a traffic charge after a collision involving a dump truck and a pickup truck towing a trailer that burst into flames this week.
Burlington OPP say the crash happened at around 8:15 a.m. on Monday, July 20th at the intersection of Highway 5 and Brock Road.
Investigators say the dump truck struck the trailer being towed by the pickup truck, causing the trailer to catch fire.
The 36-year-old driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. No serious injuries were reported.
The dump truck driver was uninjured and has been charged with a red light offence.
Police say the collision could have had much more serious consequences and are reminding motorists to stay focused behind the wheel and keep their attention on the road.
