A St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School student has earned a perfect score in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, making her the Halton Catholic District School Board’s top IB graduate for the 2025-26 school year.
Marcela Castellanos achieved a perfect overall score of 45 out of 45, a distinction earned by only a small percentage of IB Diploma Programme students worldwide. She received the highest possible score of 7 out of 7 in English A: Language and Literature HL, Chemistry HL, Physics SL, Business Management HL, Mathematics SL, and French B SL.
“This programme has also given me the opportunity to learn from highly knowledgeable teachers who truly support their students’ success,” says Castellanos. “The IB Diploma Programme has taught me the essential skills of time management and discipline, alongside university-level education that will set me up for success post-secondary. I believe the IB Programme has formed me into the person I am today and prepared me very well for my future.”
This fall, Castellanos will attend the University of Waterloo to study Chemical Engineering.
