A 36-year-old Burlington woman is among three people facing multiple charges after Hamilton Police seized a loaded handgun and suspected fentanyl.
Officers were called to a parking lot near John Street South and Jackson Street West at around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15th after receiving reports of a pickup truck occupied by three people who appeared to be intoxicated and asleep.
They positioned their cruisers to prevent the vehicle from being driven and observed suspected drugs in plain view. All three occupants were arrested.
A search of the pickup truck resulted in the seizure of approximately 32 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of Canadian currency believed to be proceeds of crime, and a loaded Glock handgun.
Along with the Burlington woman, those charged include a 37-year-old Flamborough man and a 19-year-old man with no fixed address.
The trio collectively face several Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges, including:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Operation While Prohibited
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with an Undertaking
- Fail to Comply with a Probation Order
The investigation remains ongoing.
