A major reconstruction project on Boston Church Road is underway as the Town of Milton prepares the corridor to support future employment growth in the area.
The project will continue to transform the existing rural roadway into an urban corridor between James Snow Parkway and 5 Side Road. Improvements will include new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, boulevards, road widening, and a complete reconstruction of the existing asphalt surface.
The work is being undertaken to support the development of new employment lands on both the east and west sides of Boston Church Road.
In addition to rebuilding the roadway, crews will restore existing ditches and culverts and reconstruct portions of residential driveways affected by the road widening and construction work.
As part of the project, Boston Church Road will be closed to through traffic between James Snow Parkway and 5 Side Road beginning June 29th. The closure is expected to remain in place until December 31st.
During the closure, motorists will be detoured using James Snow Parkway, Regional Road 25, and 5 Side Road.
Town officials note that construction schedules remain subject to weather and other factors that can affect progress.
Milton says the reconstruction project is part of ongoing investments in local infrastructure aimed at supporting growth, improving accessibility, and maintaining the municipality’s transportation network.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour routes while construction is underway.
