The Conservation Halton Foundation has announced a record-breaking fundraising total of more than $345,000 through its 2026 Blue campaign, including a historic result from its annual Blue Gala.
The Foundation raised $302,000 during its 8th annual Blue Gala, held Thursday, June 11th at Area 8 Conservation Area. Combined with funds collected through the Blue Community campaign on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, the overall campaign generated $345,065.
Funds raised this year will support water-based education and recreation programs for children throughout the region, including initiatives such as the Halton Children’s Water Festival. Organizers say more than 50,000 youth have participated in the festival since it began.
More than 365 guests attended the gala, which took place within the restored natural landscape of Area 8 Conservation Area. Attendees heard remarks from Ontario Environment, Conservation and Parks Minister Todd McCarthy, Conservation Halton President and CEO Chandra Sharma, and Conservation Halton Foundation Executive Director Garner Beckett.
The evening also featured a fireside chat with Canadian musician Jim Cuddy, hosted by Breakfast Television personality Tim Bolen.
Guests were served a meal prepared by celebrity chef Corbin Tomaszeski before the Jim Cuddy Trio closed the evening with a live performance.
According to the Foundation, proceeds from sponsorships, the Blue Auction and a 50/50 raffle helped the event exceed its fundraising goal.
The annual Blue Gala serves as the Conservation Halton Foundation’s signature fundraising event, supporting environmental projects, watershed protection initiatives and programs that connect young people with nature through education and recreation.
