The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) was able to identify the elderly man reportedly offering rides to young children.
They say the suspicious activity was deemed to have no criminal intent or criminal offence, and that there is no threat to public safety.
The HRPS thanked residents for helping in the search.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) needs your help in identifying a man who approached a group of children in Burlington earlier this week.
It happened on Tuesday, June 16th, at around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Spruce Avenue and Meadowhill Road.
According to investigators, a small group of students was walking home from school when an unknown man approached them and offered them a ride home.
The children did not stop or speak with the man, and he left the area on foot shortly afterward. Police say there was no physical contact and no injuries were reported.
The man is described by the HRPS as:
- white
- approximately 65 years old
- between 5’5″ and 5’8″
- heavy build
- hunched posture
- reported to have a birthmark on the right side of his face
- wearing a blue baseball cap, blue shirt and grey shorts
Anyone with information or dash cam / CCTV footage in the area of Meadowhill Road and Spruce Avenue between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 16th is asked to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
