The Town of Milton is preparing to begin work on its 2026 Expanded Asphalt Program, a road rehabilitation initiative aimed at improving road conditions and extending the lifespan of existing infrastructure.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-June and continue through the fall on sections of First Line Nassagaweya and No. 2 Side Road.
The project includes a range of improvements such as road reconstruction, shoulder enhancements, driveway transitions, and the cleaning, rehabilitation and replacement of road-crossing culverts.
Work will take place on First Line Nassagaweya from about 140 metres northwest of 15 Side Road to 20 Side Road, as well as on No. 2 Side Road between Bell School Line and Tremaine Road.
To help speed up construction, the Town says single-lane closures will be in place daily throughout the project. Motorists should expect traffic delays and are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted signage and consider alternate routes where possible.
Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained during construction. The Town notes that staged road closures may be required for certain phases of the project, with affected residents receiving advance notice if access to their properties is impacted.
