Families are invited to connect with nature, culture and Indigenous teachings during a special event at Crawford Lake Conservation Area later this month.
Strawberry Teachings: Gifts of the Heart Berry will explore the cultural and ecological significance of the strawberry, often referred to as the “heart berry.” Through storytelling, reflection and teachings shared by Grandmothers, participants will learn about gratitude, relationships with the land and the importance of the strawberry within Indigenous traditions.
In addition to the educational component, attendees will be able to enjoy a strawberry-themed beverage and participate in a craft activity inspired by the teachings.
The event is open to families and takes place at Crawford Lake Conservation Area in Milton.
Admission is $10 plus HST per person, in addition to regular park admission fees. Visitors must reserve admission to Crawford Lake and add the Strawberry Teachings program to their visit.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
