Milton Transit riders will need to use alternative methods to purchase fares starting later this month.
The Town of Milton has announced that transit fares will no longer be available for purchase through the Transit app as of Tuesday, June 16th.
Passengers will still be able to purchase tickets and passes through the Token Transit mobile app, from authorized ticket agents, or by paying exact cash when boarding the bus.
To purchase fares using a mobile device, riders can download the Token Transit app through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After creating an account, users can select and purchase a Milton Transit fare product.
A Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is required to both purchase and activate passes. Once activated, riders simply need to show their digital ticket or pass to the bus operator when boarding.
The change only affects fare purchases. Riders can continue using the Transit app for trip planning and transit information.
