An Oakville man has been arrested in connection to a robbery and assault investigation that took place outside a downtown Toronto hotel this spring.
Toronto Police say the incident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on April 25th in the area of Bay Street and Adelaide Street West.
Investigators allege the victim was waiting in line to check into a hotel when a verbal altercation with a group of individuals ahead of him escalated into a physical confrontation. During the incident, the victim was allegedly assaulted and had personal property stolen before the suspects fled the scene on foot.
Police previously announced the arrests of three male suspects and indicated that two additional suspects remained outstanding.
On Tuesday, May 19th, Toronto Police arrested 32-year-old Nadeem Ali of Oakville. He has been charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.
On Monday, May 25th, officers arrested 24-year-old Mahad Awan of Brampton. He has also been charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.
Police allege a total of five suspects were involved in the incident. With the latest arrests, all five suspects have now been taken into custody.

Toronto Police are searching for an Oakville man in connection with a downtown Toronto robbery investigation.
It happened at around 4:30 a.m. on April 25th, in the area of Bay Street and Adelaide Street West. Investigators allege a victim waiting in line to check into a hotel became involved in a verbal altercation with a group of suspects that turned physical. During the assault, the victim’s personal property was allegedly stolen before the suspects fled on foot.
Investigators say five suspects were involved. Three people have already been arrested and charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.
Police have now identified a fourth suspect as 32-year-old Nadeem Ali of Oakville, who is wanted on charges of robbery and assault causing bodily harm.
Ali is described as:
- male
- between 28 and 35 years old
- medium build
- short black spiky hair
- short black beard with medium to long facial hair
- wearing a black puffy jacket with “SUPREME” written across the chest, a black AMIRI t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident
Investigators are also working to identify an unnamed fifth suspect, described as a thin-built man with a short black beard who was wearing a black BALENCIAGA t-shirt, grey or white hoodie, ripped grey jeans, white sneakers and glasses with thin metallic frames.
