The Milton Sports Hall of Fame is celebrating a milestone year with the announcement of its 2026 induction class, honouring four individuals and one championship team as part of the hall’s 10th anniversary.
The newest class includes builders Art Brooks, Glen Dance and Arnold McDuffe, athlete Christopher Guard, and the 1996 Milton District High School Mustangs Baseball Team.
“This year marks a monumental milestone as we welcome the 10th induction class to the Milton Sports Hall of Fame,” says Chair and President Uwe Samstag-Schnock. “The 2026 inductees reflect the varied and unique ways sport brings our community together. We are proud to honour and celebrate this special group for their remarkable accomplishments and the lasting legacy they leave for future generations.”
Brooks is being recognized for more than 50 years of contributions to baseball and hockey in Milton as a coach, referee, umpire and administrator. He also played a key role in supporting girls’ hockey and softball organizations in the community.
Dance is honoured for decades of involvement in hockey and baseball, including coaching a bantam hockey team to an All-Ontario Championship during the 1970-71 season and helping shape Milton’s sports infrastructure as Arena Manager at Thompson Road Arena.

Guard, a Milton native, became one of Canada’s top wakeboarders in the early 2000s. His accomplishments include an Ontario Wakeboarding Championship, a Canadian National Rail and Slider title, and appearances on TSN and ESPN. He also helped introduce a new style to the sport influenced by skateboarding and snowboarding.
McDuffe is recognized for his role in building minor hockey in Milton. A founding member of the Tri-County Minor Hockey League, he spent decades coaching, organizing tournaments and supporting youth sports in the community.
The 1996 Milton District High School Mustangs baseball team is also being inducted after capturing the school’s only provincial baseball championship. The team finished the season with a 21-1 record and secured the Blue Jays Cup title with an 8-0 victory at the SkyDome, now known as the Rogers Centre.
The 2026 induction ceremony and wall panel unveiling will take place November 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. Tickets go on sale in early June.
Additional events celebrating the hall’s 10th anniversary are planned for the fall.
