A Norval man is among 17 people arrested by Peel Regional Police following a major investigation into an alleged international criminal network linked to extortion, shootings and arsons targeting South Asian business owners across Ontario and beyond.
Police say the group, known as “For Brothers,” is connected to 24 incidents, including 16 violent attacks involving shootings and arsons in Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon and British Columbia. Investigators allege the network used intimidation, threats and violence to extort local businesses, including restaurants and trucking companies.
Among those charged is 24-year-old Akashdeep Singh of Norval. Police say 17 men were arrested during coordinated raids in April 2026 as part of a joint-forces investigation involving Peel Regional Police, the OPP, CBSA, FBI and FINTRAC.
Investigators also seized six firearms, drugs, cell phones, SIM cards and fraudulent identification.
The investigation remains ongoing, with additional arrests anticipated.
