Applications are now open for the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Youth Advisory Council for the 2026-2027 school year.
The council gives local youth an opportunity to share ideas and perspectives on policing, while helping shape programs, events, and initiatives that impact young people in the community.
Created in 2021 as part of the service’s broader youth engagement strategy, the Youth Advisory Council is made up of high school students from a variety of backgrounds who act as an advisory board to police. Members provide feedback on youth-focused initiatives, recommend ways to better support youth in the region, and help strengthen connections between police and the community.
The program also offers opportunities for students to volunteer, support HRPS events, advocate for Halton’s diverse youth population, and connect with peers from across the region.
Applicants must be between 13 and 18 years old. Members are expected to attend one two-hour evening meeting each month from September through June and may also take part in additional projects organized by the council.
Applications must be submitted by Monday, June 22nd at 4:00 p.m. Find everything you need here.
