Road closed sign
Drivers heading in and out of Milton should prepare for a long-term closure along Appleby Line as the town has begun a major road reconstruction project.
The Town of Milton says reconstruction work will take place on Appleby Line between Derry Road and the entrance to Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area, excluding the hairpin turn section.
The project includes full roadway reconstruction, storm sewer installation, curb and gutter work, retaining walls, paving, erosion control measures and tree plantings. Officials say the overall project is expected to continue through July 2027.
As part of the work, Appleby Line will be closed to through traffic until October 16th, 2026. Local access will still be maintained during construction.
A signed detour route will direct drivers along Derry Road, Bell School Line and 14 Side Road.
